“ Went Saturday with a very large group for a party in the side room. Was aprehnsive at 1st, I hadnt been here in a few years. The place is totally redone. Very modern industrial motif in my opinion (hope thats the best way to describe it). The bars is pretty cool as well. Everything we ate and drank was fantastic. I loved the skirt steak. My favorite was the meatballs appetizer, I still cant get over how good they were. Most importantly the staff was youthful and very energetic as well as freindly and precise. Carlos the manager was a great host and stopped by to introduce himself and he came by again and when we were departing to check on the service and how it was. Its been a long time since I recieved that kind of treatment from the staff at spot and we will return specifically for that reason. The place looking great and food being great helps as well. ”

“ So this is going to be a two part review, the first is a comparison to the original Park and Orchard and the 2nd is a review of the restaurant as it stands on it's own. So my husband & I had been going to the original P&O for over 20 years. We loved the food which was consistently good. The menu hardly changed in 20 years and it didn't need to. I'll compare it to going to your Mom's house for your favorite meal. You looked forward to having some of your old favorites and the food was comforting. We also were familiar with the owners, the matri d and most of the wait staff and we appreciated being recognized as long time customers when we dined there. The only downside of the old P&O was that the restaurant was in need of a physical makeover. We were sad when we heard the restaurant was being sold, but were happy that, according to everything we read, the new owners were going to keep some of the favorite menu items on the menu. We missed P&O when it closed, but looked forward to trying the new restaurant. So we tried the new P&O last night. The new interior is outstanding. The new layout makes sense and is a better use of space. But it was a little dark for our liking. We checked out the menu. First impression was that it was very pricey. And none of the meals came with a salad. I wouldn't even mind ordering a side salad, but they only had 3 salads to choose from, and they were all odd. No "regular" salad here. I was very saddened to see that there were none, no, nada menu items from the original menu. The next thing that saddened me was, all of the previous wait staff was gone. I do have to say that we did order was delicious. But this restaurant has no resemblance to the original P&O. Other than the name and the location, nothing is the same and that is really sad and disappointing. So the second part of my review if I haven't already scared you away with this very long review, is to review the restaurant as a new restaurant, with no comparison to the original. The decor was striking, but dark. We loved the open kitchen concept. Our waiter was awesome and attentive. The menu is a little to unusual for my taste. I like to try new things, but would appreciate a few staple items on the menu. The entrees where very pricey. The food was ample and delicious. We had the meatball appetizer as well as the PEI mussels which were sooo good. The food also came VERY fast. I had the fried chicken which was very moist and flavorful. Others at my table had the pot roast, seafood and pasta bolgnese. All big portions and all delicious. We will definitely go back again. But it's just not Park and Orchard and they probably should have named it something different to avoid comparison. Because on it's own, its a great restaurant. ”

“ I had been to the old P & O about 20 years ago and was curious about the new version. The interior is dark and dimly lit but intimate in its own way. I like the layout and spacing of the tables. We had a very attentive waitress, Kim. The wine list isn't extensive but had some nice choices. They began with some nice toasty bread in a small black fry pan- nice touch and delicious. We chose one of the specials as an appetizer. I realized afterwards that they both had a goat cheese stuffing and would have wished to opt differently on one of them so as to get different tastings. Appetizers: Zucchini blossoms stuffed with goat cheese- good but a bit of garlic flavor which I didn't feel belonged with this dish. Goat cheese fritters: good Entrees: Three Cheese Agnolotti * asparagus, speck, ramps & peas -good not great Duck Ragu * ricotta gnocchi, tomato, mushrooms, saffron & red wine- excellent Dessert: Chocolate souffle with vanilla sauce- more on the cakey side but good. The sauce needed a little more vanilla flavor. I would order it again. The new P & O has a different feel and flavor but worth a visit. ”

“ So this may or may not be a biased review, all in favor for the best old fashioned you'll ever have. Ask for the Niel special, it's not on the menu but he will certainly get you "there" he makes the most delectable drinks!!! And he's definitely easy on the eyes. No onto the bar itself, the decor is quite lovely, dim lights with an exposed kitchen. The food is yummy from what I've had this far. Forget tuna tartare the salmon tartare is what your mouth wants. Now run don't walk, stop on by. You will be pleasantly surprised. ”

Yes she is part of a team that created these delicious apps and entrees that my family and I ate on this special evening reserved for friends and family to have a pre tasting of their menu. Menu prices about out of 5 and 4 1/2 's out of 5! Highly recommend the skirt steak and salmon tartar!! Steak fries a little on the oily side. Full bar and wine available by the glass. “ After years and years of hearing how wonderful this restaurant is, I gave in and made a reservation. For three. Me & two of my girlfriends met there on a Friday night for dinner. I was told I should MOST DEFINITELY make reservations. However, when I walked in, I saw that there was no need for the reservation, as the place was basically deserted. We were seated, and greeted promptly by our waitress, who was super sweet & cool. For the appetizer, I ordered the smoked trout (my first experience EVER eating trout), and my friends ordered the Crab Fingers with Remoulade Sauce & Mixed Baby Greens - Balsamic Vinegar Dressing. I was extremely impressed with the smoked trout. Everyone else seemed tantalized by their choices as well. For the main courses, I ordered "Eggplant Stuffed", and OMG, was that so damned good. I still water at the mouth when I think about the way it melted in my mouth. Also ordered were the Chicken Parmesan and the Delicious Dairy and Wheat-Free Lasagna. I tried the other main dishes and enjoyed them as much as my own dish. Even though we were stuffed to the gills, we just HAD to order dessert. My girls both ordered the Tiramisu, and I went with the Peanut Butter Pie / Resse's Pieces. I barely touched it, just ate most of the peanut butter. All in all, it was definitely all that it was made out to be and then some. I must get there at least once more before I bow out of New Jersey for a few years. ”
